a year of moods ...
I found myself creating a moodboard last spring as I was visioning summer—when those first hot days hit and stir up something wild in you that has you fantasizing about swimming and beaches and road trips and picnics. I’d never made a moodboard before but enjoyed the hypnotic space it put me in and decided to continue—to, in effect, catalogue my moods throughout the course of an entire year, as they came up. Sometimes only a week would pass, sometimes a couple months, but when I felt inspired by some mood overtaking me, I would sit down and piece together a moodboard collage. That collection became this project, a documentation of my moods over the course of one calendar year, as they struck me. In truth, I also created moodboards for Mercury retrograde, insomnia, the “week outside of time” between Christmas and New Year’s, and a few others, but I brought together the ones that felt the most cohesive for this whole.
